New Year's resolution....it's not what you think it is!

Hi all..

Well, it's NYE here in Perth and it's still about 36 degrees celsius and as always when you're planning to go out your make up starts running off before you've even had time to finish your first bevi.

My NY resolution isn't one of the following: lose weight, take over the world (maybe just a little) or to exercise more.

My resolution is to relax more and appreciate what I have - as well as to wear more red lipstick!

There's no pick me up like a red lippy - it's like channelling Grace Kelly or Ava Gardner and the best part is that the rest of your make up can be minimal.

Red lippy rocks! I have so many different textures, hues, tints that even I get confused - but I'm a sucker for MAC Red and Chanel Gabrielle - smooth on and absorb the glamour! Just don't forget you need to line and colour your lips before applying the lipstick: you don't want it bleeding or feathering before you've finished your big night.

Enough about minimal makeup though - it's New Years Eve, so I've pulled out the big guns and chucked on some Napoleon lashes....

As you can see, they're certainly not the demure type, but are well made and fairly easy to apply. The rest of the makeup is MAC, using some lavender and gold to make the most of my hazel eyes. Didn't take long and I feel like I'm channelling old Hollywood glamour - on steroids hahaha

How ever you choose to look tonight - casual, dressed to the hilt or downright glamourous - have a safe night and enjoy yourselves. The beauty of tonight is......it all starts anew tomorrow.

Endings.... and new beginnings...

Well, we've survived the 2012 apocalypse and with Christmas and New Year on our door steps, it is time to take a breath and look back on the year that has passed... it's been interesting, a growth in a new direction and impeding excitement of what's to come in 2013... Keep posted for some new twists on the beauty blogs, especially from an Australian and Perth point of view, as well as product reviews and interviews with up and coming make up artists...I'm excited for this new journey.....hope to have you join me.Love Mary-Anne and Luxe Bomb Beauty xxx
